I decided to do this one for my next 5 Days 5 Looks segment when I realized that even though I had it since it was released, I really hadn’t used it that much. So I got out my brushes and started playing. I was able to get a decent variety of subtle and bold looks out of the palette.

Day 1

For this look I was feeling something dark and bold. I just went really simple – one shade over the lid with liner and mascara.

Colors used:
Looking Glass (highlight)
Gone Mad (lid)
Time (worn as eyeliner)

Day 2

Today I was feeling very Alice inspired. I had reread the book the night before, so I was really into the character. This turned out way prettier than it looks in the picture – almost fairy-like. Every time I caught a reflection of myself I was obsessed. I will definitely be doing this look again. Maybe next time I will use a color from the palette as eyeliner. The liner here is Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Smoke.

Colors used:
Lily (highlight)
Royal Flush (lid)
Metamorphosis (outer corner)

Day 3

This was job interview day, so I went for something really subtle. I wore a lipstick to the interview that nearly matched the shade of my lips then switched it to something more fun for work. By today I had already run out of good highlight colors (there’s not that many in this palette) so switched to the same highlighter I used on my cheeks in order to not reuse colors.

Colors used:
Reflection (lid)
Duchess (outer corner)
Chronosphere (liner)

Day 4

The Everclear concert was today (it’s been a concert filled summer and I’m loving it), so I went with something a little rock inspired. I used a grey on my lids then picked a color that was only a half shade darker but way more shimmery to give some definition to the outer corner. The liner color looks good in this picture, but I wasn’t a huge fan of it close up. If I did this look again, I would probably use shade Time for liner. I couldn’t do it this time, having already used it for liner on Day 1, so I had to improvise.

Colors Used:
Mirror (lid)
Dream On (outer corner)
Bandersnatch (liner)

Day 5

This was a fun kind-of-but-not-really-neutral color, a fiery copper that I used over the whole lid then blended out with a brown in the crease. The look has summer written all over it. And of course I topped it off with my favorite lipstick – Too Faced Melted Matte in Queen B.

Colors Used:
Salazen Grum (lid)
Kingdom (crease)
Chessboard (liner)

Usually during my 5 Days 5 Looks sessions, it feels as if I use most, if not all, of the colors in a palette. Not so here. This isn’t due just to how many colors are included, but I feel that the shades do not coordinate well together, limiting the amount of colors you can put in one look if you don’t have makeup artist level skills. While I’m still glad I bought the palette (that packaging is probably the prettiest one on my vanity) it just means the looks I create with it are a little more simple.

  1. Hey there! Your looks are so creative, I would never be that adventurous with a palette such as the Alice Through the Looking Glass palette! Despite my more conservative tendencies with makeup, I also run a small beauty blog if you would like to check it out! Again, your work looks great! https://telletheblog.wordpress.com/
